About this speaker

Leslie José Zigel is the "un-cola" of lawyers. Leslie has guided the careers of global superstars, served as General Counsel for a multi-national media company during the digital revolution (Napster, iTunes, etc.) and counsels business ventures at all levels; from start-ups to publicly traded companies. His passion derives from being a jazz and jam band bass player performing with Grateful Dead tribute bands and other musicians. Because of his multi-dimensional improvisational thinking, he's at ease stepping into uncertainty with a clear and creative point of view that creates solutions and ways to grow your business in unexpected manners. Jazz at its essence is writing melodies in real time. Business is no different - problems and challenges are really no more than opportunities to create new pathways that seem obvious only in retrospect. Prior to practicing law, he produced numerous music festivals. His improvisational ethos seeps into his creative and pragmatic approach in crafting strategies that add bottom-line value to every transaction. And he's had the chance to jam with masters such as Branford Marsalis, Kenny Kirkland, Stanley Jordan, Victor Wooten, Nestor Torres, George Terry and others over the years. One thing that is not in his vocabulary is "this is the way it's always done".
